Abstract

This study explains the effect of compensation on employee performance in the Palembang Mayor's Office. The number of members of the population is 162 employees. The sampling technique used a Probability sampling technique, obtained 35 samples. This study uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach that uses a questionnaire as a data collection tool and uses simple linear regression analysis techniques, determination and using hypothesis testing (t test) to measure the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable compensation (X1) as an independent variable and employee performance as dependent variable (Y). Data processing in this study was assisted by a computer program, SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution). The results of the discussion can be seen that the results of simple linear regression calculations between compensation variables on employee performance are obtained, namely Y'= 38.074 + 0.238 X1 where the coefficient of coefficient value is 38.074 and the regression coefficient of compensation variable is 0.238. Based on the results of the research hypothesis test it can be seen that the partial t test obtained sig value of 0.005 <0.05. The conclusion is that the compensation variable affects the performance of employees. Implications for compensation agencies play a role in determining the level of employee performance.
